What is Amazon's Pivot Program?
Will participating in the Pivot Program impact my professional reputation at Amazon or future job opportunities?
What are the potential outcomes of the Pivot Program?
Long story short, I am being entered into Pivot. I more than likely will be taking the Leave option as I no longer feel that my org is a place I’d want to continue working, but I wanted to hear if anyone has any advice or can share their experience if they fought a Pivot.
To be clear, I don’t want to fight the pivot even if the rationale provided is dubious at best. If anything, I’d like to negotiate up the number despite the letter advising it is non-negotiable. I have been with the company nearly two years, and I have a lot of invested RSUs and my sign on bonus for my salary ends in July.
For context, I went on a medical leave in October. When I had left, I was under no sort of focus review. Myself, along with 75% of managers in our org were moved into an individual contributor role in June of last year, and I had been meeting all metrics.
When I returned from leave at the end of October, I was apparently placed on Focus. This wasn’t obvious to me as I was also moved teams and was under the impression the increased 1:1s were for the transition.
The timing of this all seems suspicious, and the rationale for the pivot is flawed if not outright incorrect in some areas, but I no longer want to work here. Is there any merit to getting a lawyer? Have you gone through pivot or know people who have? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
