LPT: If Amazon gives you a *refund* for a damaged or defective product, keep that product for 7 days before discarding it. A refund can be retroactively converted into a *return* (leaving you on the hook for a product that you no longer have).
Had an instance where they converted an order that never arrived (thanks amazon delivery service) into a return. I had to call them up and remind them the items never arrived and to cancel the return demand. More on reddit.com
