Amazon Music prime subscription is free for prime members. It’s the same concept as Pandora, you can shuffle playlist and stations, but you can’t play songs on demand as far as I know. You must have inadvertently subscribed to the Amazon Music unlimited plan, which is paid for everyone. Prime members have a discount though. More on reddit.com

December 22, 2024Amazon Prime Music update broke album streaming on Sonos app?
Yes I too have S1 and noticed this today. I too got the email. What I've found is that until yesterday you could search for individual songs, and so long as the song was in the 2 million songs included in Prime Music, then you could play the song. You could also search for an album, and if the album songs were included in the 2 million songs in Prime Music, you could play the album. What I notice today after that email is that searching for songs no longer even searches Amazon Music, and if you search for an album or by artist and see the album you can click play on the album. The positive is that older albums that didn't show up in the album search until yesterday now do show up. But like you noticed I'm sure, the album doesn't play if you click on it, instead you get a shuffle of a few songs that are on the album mixed in with other songs that arguably "sound like" the requested album. It's what they're calling a "station" based on the album selection. I definitely don't like it as much! The "definition" of (old) Prime Music being included in Amazon Prime was definitely a big part of why I pay for Prime. Now, I'm not so sure I'll renew when it comes up for renewal. More on reddit.com

I've been a Prime member for 10+ years, but never used the music service. Last week I downloaded the app on my phoe and started listening. I have used Pandora, but I thought I'd try this and I thought it was included in Prime. The next day I got an email stating: "Your subscription costs $0.00 for the first 3 months and then $9.99 per month after,"
I thought it was included? Is there a "lite" version I am thinking of, or one with commercials or something?

Prime using to include about 2m songs ad free but it's not been like that doe a couple of years. If you're a prime member you get a discount on an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription.
