My boss bought a laptop with AMD A6-9225 CPU, to paraphrase the famous Bob Dylan review, what is this shit? It is unbelievably slow, fucking unusable, for example, it takes 20-30 seconds to load Gmail and it lags now when I write this message.
I cannot believe AMD release this shit in 2018, my 8 years old laptop with i3 feels like i9 desktop CPU compared to this shit.

Yeah, that's Stoney Ridge, the bottom of AMD's barrel for budget laptops. Not only is it a 2 core CPU, that is, one construction cores module, but it also has only single channel RAM support.

Managed to slip in with an X470 motherboard? Because no other A6 compatible motherboard will take a 5000-series Ryzen. Curious why one would purchase a 2016 cpu with a high end motherboard in 2021, dual core at that, and expect it to be more than a web browser / email / word processing cpu? More on reddit.com

I think you're better off with something in the Haswell family for a laptop with a slight gaming use. The newer HD gfx are pretty good and you get some nice power in there as well for the versatility. Those Haswell's also have some pretty great benefits on battery life. According to this , the gfx in the A6 match the 6490M graphics. Meaning that you can expect this for gaming. Compare that to the Haswell gfx. It seems like the AMD gfx are a little better than the Haswell's but it's a tradeoff for CPU power. More on reddit.com

Ryzen 3 and better should be the only AMD CPUs that are given the right to exist, the A6-9500 should never have been born because of it's sheer pointlessness. It is worthless because it fails to not lag when gaming, multitasking, and for all the other stuff I do with my computer. More recently, the damn thing can't even go a week without restarting the computer out of nowhere or coughing up a BSOD that doesn't even tell me what in the hell happened (istg it's the cpu)
No, my 16 GB of RAM, SSD, or GTX 1650 are not the problems. The CPU in my computer is truly what lags behind every other part in my system.
maybe im exaggerating a bit because i've just been so sick of it for the past 3 years idk. thank god i can get me a ryzen 5 5600 for christmas, and GOOD RIDDANCE.
and to be fair, i have not changed the thermal paste and have been using the stock cooler ever since i got the computer in 2021. this piece of shit is on it's way out anyway and will probably be incinerated by me the very second that ryzen 5 5600 goes into the cpu socket of my computer

I bought one just to do a bios update on an asrock ab350m pro4 board that won’t run a ryzen cpu until the bios is updated…it’s been in the parts bin for a couple years now 😆
