Hello! I come facing an issue i didn't have while using ubuntu and operating systems building off it! (KDE Neon, Zorin OS)
I can't seem to get the drivers that give me hip-runtime! The amdgpu-install drivers, Which I require for davinci resolve and decoding, (I pay for davinci pro.) So, Does anyone know how? If so, What did you do? I'd love to get things back up and running after this switch asap
Hello, I just installed debian and want to get the drivers, but it looks like its only for ubuntu, red hat and SLED.
I'm using debian 13. I've been trying to get GPU to work with ollama on the AI Max 395+ (from Framework desktop) but I can't seem to find any instructions for installing the igpu driver. Could somebody point me to the right direction for this?
Default install of debian does not have "amdgpu" available nor anything that says the driver is installed by default.
Thanks!
I just need opencl for mining on the side. Some people say that you need only 4.19 kernel, it only works with that.
Btw this open source driver doesn't have that.
Hi, i want to test open source amdvlk on debian 12 and compare results with radv. Next step, i want install amdgpu-pro drivers on debian 12 and compare results with amdvlk and radv. Any help???
I think neither is officially provided by debian.
For amdvlk, you can compile from source. There is also a ubuntu package available, but I have not tested that by myself and cannot guarantee anything.
Debian is not officially supported by amdgpu-pro. You may use the ubuntu package if you want, but there is zero guarantee that it can work.
You may find yourself a better place in Ubuntu in such situations.
Amdgpu-pro couldn’t be installed because ‘dkms’ fails. amdvlk could be installed with its option and all open option. Download amdgpu-install from AMD official site.
I have recently switched from Ubuntu to Debian. I can't any drivers for Debian on the website. Is there any other way I can install them?
Edit: The solution on this website worked.
