Factsheet
Been tracking a package from UK. Royal Mail tracking, then it diverted me to An Post tracking. The An Post tracking states that there are Custom Charges due, which was expected. It says I need an MRN or Customs number to "see the charges" and pay them. But......I don't have this number. I haven't received any notification of Customs charges and am only aware of them because I was tracking. Seller doesn't know anything about it and says they have no tracking details. An post say I need the number and are not offering any other suggestions or solutions, other than call back with the customs number. I get the impression that they don't believe me that I didn't get notified and keep referring me to my spam folder etc. Any ideas?
Did you check your physical post box? It should have arrived on a little postcard thing. If it didn't you can request they (An Post) resend the charge notice
It can take a few days for the letter to arrive. If not, just ring them up and explain that you did not get it and they'll sort you out with the number.
Received a text message asking me to pay customs charges for an item I received. The text message has the tracking ID the merchant gave me. I'm fairly sure it's legitimate but just wanted to check it with others first. Thanks lads.
