It's history repeating itself. Every time there is a new innovation there will always be people that don't like it and try to stop it. It happened when the camera was invented, the car, the newspaper, hell even when the computer was invented people were like "new thing = bad." Just give them a while and they'll see how wrong they were for their futile attempt at stopping human technological progress. Answer from Carmina_Rayne on reddit.com

Is using AI wrong? A review of six popular anti-AI arguments
Some people really, really don’t like AI. Broadly speaking, being anti-AI is a popular left-wing position: AI1 is cringe, it’s plagiarism, it’s stunting real growth, it’s killing the environment, it’s destroying the careers of artists and creatives, and so on.

I'm gonna treat this seriously, and hopefully not get lambasted for misunderstanding. The three key arguments I see are: Trained on stolen art Takes away jobs Bad for the environment Personally, I think there are grains of merit to each of these, but they are drastically misrepresented. It's understandably an emotional subject for a lot of people, after all. ––– The first both depends on how you define the usage of the material (is it reference, or plagiarism), as well as how freely available the material was (could someone have simply downloaded it anyways). Further, there's an argument to be made for at what point it stops mattering. I won't make this argument now though, because it's bound to be contentious. The second is as you touched upon - there will always be those displaced by technological progress. That progress also isn't always a straightforward upgrade, depending on your perspective. Regardless, people are being displaced, and there are currently next to no safety nets to help them recover. Whether or not that's actually an AI issue is debatable, but it's still a valid consideration. As for the third... well, the third is just a straight up misunderstanding. It relies on data taken out of context, without regard for comparison to other common technologies. Yet it's also true that it does add up at the scale the industry is operating at. Without renewable energy to curb the impact, the environment will technically suffer more than it would have without the technology.

November 26, 2025 - Anthropic’s marketing stunt is the most obvious example yet of A.I. companies’ recent “anti-A.I. Only 17 percent of American adults think A.I.’s impact on the country will be positive in the next two decades, according to a Pew Research Center survey this spring.
