130$ Apple Pencil (2nd Gen) not being compatible with the latest iPad is the sole reason I might not be buying the M4 iPad Pro.
HELP: Apple Pencil (Gen 2) won’t connect to iPad Pro (2021)
Leave the pencil connected and charging for at least 6 hours. Disconnect go into your Bluetooth settings and remove EVERYTHING. Then hard reboot the iPad. (Volume up, volume down, then the side button and slide to power off.
Then turn it back on, wait a bit to completely boot, (shouldn’t take too long, 5-8 seconds). Then try to repair the pencil and see if it works, if it still doesn’t, contact apple.

I’ve had an 11-inch iPad Pro M1 since late 2021. I was really looking forward to the M4 iPads. I am thoroughly impreby how thin they are and how great the OLED screen will look. 3 years later I think this was a perfect time to upgrade my iPad as I've started seeing the battery life deteriorate.
I also have a 2nd gen Pencil that cost 130$ in 2022 and it still costs the same. It works with every other iPad Pro but the new one. I refuse to believe a company of Apple's calibre can't figure out a small charging magnets.
Apple gives me 400$ back for my old iPad but having to basically buy a new Apple Pencil as well rubs me the wrong way and hence I just might hold on to the 2021 iPad and the pencil.
Rant over.
