Hi all
I tried out a Steel Silver for a couple of days to decide if I want it versus the Graphite. Both very beautiful watches but in the end I decided to return the Silver... however I can say without looking at it there's going to be micro-scuffs/scratches. It's just a fairly soft steel.
With that in mind, surely it's impossible to return a steel Apple Watch in pristine condition if you wear it for any amount of time? So is this one area where Apple especially lenient? Their shops are super bright so if they are being picky you can bet they'll spot something.
Second... Since many people are no doubt returning non-perfect devices what on earth does Apple do with them all? Surely they aren't resold as-is?
Thanks!
[UPDATE: I returned it yesterday. Guy barely looked at it. He explained they break it down and recycle. That's a shame :/]

As the title states I bought an Apple Watch 17 days ago? And I would like to return it but I guess Best Buy only has a 15 day return policy. I didn’t know this until today so I was hoping that to get the return somehow but the sales consultant just recommended that I “flip” the Apple Watch.
There’s nothing wrong with the watch, I just want my money back. It doesn’t serve the need that I wanted it for which is to track my workouts. When I track my workouts it doesn’t feel good so I want to return it.
I honestly think that it’s murder to have a 15 day return policy, it’s so damn short of a time frame.
ive opened it and kept all of the packaging but i have used it and set it up
My son came home 2 weeks ago from his shopping trip. I then noticed he had an apple watch he was messing with. Well, long story short he got a lesson in why you don't buy yourself gifts before Christmas. He went in 2 days later to try to return it and they said they can't. It's been opened and out of the box for maybe 5 mins. He has the receipt.
Apparently he went to return it, they said is anything wrong with it. He said no, and they said it's not returnable.
I cannot find anything about apple products having a no refund. The most I can find is the 30day policy on electronics which states you can return if you are unhappy with your purchase.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Edit to clarify a few things.
My son bought the watch not knowing I got him one for Christmas. I can't normally afford these types of gifts so he had no reason to suspect I had gotten him one.
I bought the one I got in October on sale on Amazon. It is past the return date unfortunately.
I understand if it can't be done, I am not trying to be difficult, or trying to scam walmart or anything. I am feeling (unreasonably I am sure, but none the less) guilty about the situation. It's out of my feeling bad that I am trying to figure it out. I should probably let him solve through this himself, he's 19 and these are life lessons he should learn. He already feels really bad about it lol.
Spoke with an Apple customer service rep who said that an in-store purchase can be returned for up to 30 days with no issue and that every Apple Store would honor this.
I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro a couple weeks ago just to try out the smaller size before I decided which 17 Pro to order (been using the Max for years). I totally forgot that the phones are only available for pre-order at first though, so needed a little extra time on my current device. I’ll return it after I switch everything over from the new one.
Either way I’m fine because I have the recorded call confirming I’m good. Just curious about everyone else’s experience.
I purchased an apple watch 9 on prime day but decided to return it.
Unlike other normal products, it won't give me a return options on websites so I had to talk to a customer representative.
The thing is what I was told from them. Although I purchased it on Amazon, they told me I need to talk to apple. I really thought it did not make sense. I asked them double check if it was true and they said it was.
They gave me a link for the apple support and Im still looking for how to return on apple website. So ridiculous..
Have any of you purchased an Apple Watch and been unhappy with the colour? I purchased the project red one a couple of days ago and I’m not sure if I like the colour, and if I decide down the road to get an additional strap for it the amount of red straps is very few. Does anyone have any experience in returning one for a different colour? I’m in the uk if that matters and I purchased it 2 days ago
I've got one at Bestbuy but I am not entirely sure if I will keep it.
I also wanted a SS version but want to give Sport a try.
Anyone had any idea or experience in returning the apple watch to Bestbuy once the box is opened and it's been used, within 14 days?
Thanks!
I am looking at the webpage for an apple watch. It specifically states:
Return policy
-
Return within Return or replace anytime.
-
Returnable to club? Yes
Is this true?
Apple Watches can be returned or replaced at any time?
Thank You

I bought a black sport loop yesterday In an Apple store and I don’t think I like.
Every time I think I need an apple watch, I buy it and after a week I realize I'm not really using it for anything. Thanks to apples return policy I end up returning it. There's a few reasons for this:
Charging issues:
-
you have to charge it daily, so you can't really use it for sleep tracking if you wear it all day
-
If you use it for sleep tracking, you'll have to take it off and charge it during the day which is inconvenient
-
another charger, another occupied outlet, another thing to remember to charge, and another thing to carry
General issues:
-
walkie talkie never works, extremely glitchy. Have tried this in 2 different series 8 watches
-
doesn't track the activities I do: Skating, rollerblading, etc.
-
heart rate is not as accurate as chest strap I have which I just connect to my iphone. Also i found the watch has to be on fairly tight (uncomfortable over long periods) for it to measure HR
-
accessing any app on the watch is a much inferior experience vs using my phone
-
phone call quality is not great unless you're in a quiet environment
Purpose/Use case confusion?
The main thing though is it seems like no one really needs these. Clearly it's not to tell time, and it's not a fashion accessory like a traditional high quality watch would be. So why would one really need these?
I always THINK I need it, but after I buy it each time I realize functionally speaking, it has no purpose. My phone is always in my pocket and easily accessible, what can my watch do that that my phone can't? It's just so much easier and more efficient to get things done on my iphone. Taking the iphone out of my pocket takes no longer than turning my wrist to look at my watch.
But then there are those rare moments where I'm like I could use a watch now, like when I misplace my phone and want something to make it beep. Or when I was traveling and wanted to use the watch as a remote to take photos from my phone of myself and my family. Or when I randomly went on a bike ride and wished something was tracking my speed and heart rate. All these things happen so infrequently in my life though...so it really worth shelling out nearly a grand for the ultra?
The new ultra is out, the one issue it has solved for me is the charging...supposedly you can get away with charging it every 3 days or so? But the rest of the issues remain. Do you think I should buy it, or will I just end up returning it?
Silly to ask others this, but I guess I'm just looking for a push in one direction or the other. I hate to be that guy who always buys stuff and then just returns it. But logically speaking, not just for me, but in general the apple watch seems like something that most people don't really have a use case for. They may be just forcing a use case out of it.
