The website says "AppleCare One plans can cover devices that are on the same Apple Account as the subscriber."
I'm not clear on what this means since we have separate login emails tied to a single shared family account in my name. It seems (to me) to indicate that each of us would have to enroll separately, which sucks.

It is a mess. It said I had eligible devices to add which I did. But they were family member devices. It then said the devices were going to be removed within 24 hours unless I logged in to the device. The only I was able to get the old coverage back was to spend about two hours on the phone with support and get an exception to add back the old coverage. Until they open it to family plans I am avoiding it. Otherwise if I transfer a device to a family member in the future it will lose coverage. With the AppleCare+ when I transfer a device as long as I keep paying the monthly fee the device can remain covered.

So, recently my dads phone had a repair and store told us that they can add Apple care+ for him. So, he used his card to pay for the subscription.
But on the app it doesn’t show which payment method it will be charged next month.
Will it be charged to my card since he is part of family sharing and doesn’t have his card linked Apple ID or will it be charged towards the card he used at the store.

I have 3 devices with apple care + , An iPhone pro, an iPad 10th gen and an iPad Air M3, I pay 9.99, 3.49, & 3.99 Apple emailed me and said I would save money with Apple Care One BUT the math says they are wrong by almost $2.00 , the only cool thing about Apple care one is that it says I can re-register my Apple Watch 7th generation and my M1 MacBook Pro but honestly, I’d rather replace them when they go bad and that probably won’t happen for many more years so, I’m kinda on the sidelines with AC1 — no I won’t save money unless I want to resurrect a device that’s already out of warranty and I might but not right now.
