If the motherboard box doesn’t have a logo or sticker anywhere saying it’s “Ryzen 5000 series desktop ready!”, then yes you’ll need to do a USB bios flash update before you start any other part of the build. But it only says the 5000 series?
I'm confused, because Google says the Ryzen 9 7900X is also AM4 compatible? Except it says it's only compatible with DDR5, which I assume means RAM? I only have 32GB of DDR4 RAM.
Is it worth it to upgrade to say a 5950x or 5800X3D from a 5800x? I know those are compatible.
I'm going to swap to liquid cooling over my X-mas break from work, and if I'm doing that I'm thinking about learning how to swap out a CPU as well. I want every bit of performance out of my 4090 for Warhammer 3. More so because I'm in 1440p for the maximum settings. Therefore the bottleneck will be relieved that much more.
Sorry if these are dumb questions! Much appreciated with any help!

the Ryzen 7000 series is a brand new socket so it will require a new AM5 Mobo and DDR5 ram. Your upgrade options are the 5950x or the 5800x3D. The 5800x doesnt required to be liquid cooled so your cooler should be fine. Your case is probably the problem with your high temps, it. doesnt seem to be very airflow friendly. I'd suggest you get something more open.

Hello I revelry bought a b550-f (10 days ago)
And want to start building my new pc but I’m wondering if the factory board (b550-f has bios version 2803 or greater as factory installed or do I need to update bios with flashback before I boot it up.
I have a r7 5700x3d and you need bios update 2803 or greater to have it compatible.
Thanks I’m just wondering bc it feels like a hassle if I need to update bios right now. So I just wanna know if the motherboard supports that CPU out of the box.
