What is the difference between an undermount sink and an inset sink?
Inset sinks are installed with the lip or rim on top of the countertop. These sinks have an external frame to hold them in position. Undermount sinks are installed under the surface of the countertop with a custom, sink-size cutout in the surface.
How are under mount sinks attached?
Undermount sinks are attached using epoxy adhesives to permanently hold them in place. The seams are sealed with silicone caulking to prevent any water or condensation leakage from occurring.
Long story short, im looking to replace my current drop-in kitchen sink with an undermount. Unfortunately they were sloppy when cutting the hole for the countertop, and its very nonstandard. The hole itself in the counter is 32 1/8th wide. Meaning i need an undermount with an interior basin dimension of 32, or a little wider. Im having a heck of a time finding anything with that dimension.
Plenty with exterior dimensions of 32, but the bowls are only 30 or so wide.
