No. That's not how it works. Best you could do would probably be contact cement, but eventually it will start peeling and may cause damage to the surface if peeled away. Answer from Frank_Jesus on reddit.com

r/Leatherworking on Reddit: What type of glue should I use for adding patches on leather without damaging it?
March 2, 2025 -
I want to add an old patch I had on my previous cloth bag to my new leather one. I don't want to damage the leather by sewing or using a permanent glue. Is there a washable glue that I could use on leather that won't damage it? If not, it's fine, I can live without the patch on the bag, but if I can, I definitely want to.

Big Boss, instead of sewing on the patch which will irreversibly damage the leather, consider adding the patch onto something that can be tied on or be removed. Think of how a luggage tag works for an example.

What is the best glue to use on leather?
That's not really a question we can answer without more information. What kind of leather? What are you doing with it? Etc, etc. Personally, on veg-tan I have been using Aquilim 315 a lot lately because it's water based and doesn't have the harmful VOCs that Barge or Weldwood or other "traditional" contact cements do so I can use it in my small indoor workshop without killing my brain a little at a time. That's not the right answer for all situations, though. More on reddit.com
