I’m looking for a bed frame for a king size bed. My wife and I moved recently and upgraded to a king and can’t seem to find something we like. I really want to make sure it’s going to be quality. She wants it to also look nice. I’ve seen Thuma recommended but she doesn’t really like how they look. I don’t mind spending $3000 on it if it’s nice!

First of all, If my "normal use" resulted in me breaking three bed frames in as many years, I'd hire a damn skywriter and commission a statue of myself. Can you tell me a little about what you liked about the previous bedframes you used? Were they platform or slats or? Is there any way you'd be able to Ron Swanson one? Making a basic wooden bed frame is pretty dang easy, even if you're not great with carpentry. We knocked one out in an afternoon.

The last two bed frames I bought were from Zinus. They aren’t the highest end but I’ve been using the one I’m in now for 10 years with no complaints. It was like $110 new. We just bought their signature frame (sorry, I’m blanking on the product name) because it was on sale and we are planning to upgrade to king in the next year or so. (My dream would be the platform bed by Thuma but I have two kids in daycare so I’m loving my thrifty option instead. We’ll splurge on the mattress.)

I think this is one of those things you kinda need to shop around for. At that price point for something that is SOLID and will last, I would find a high-end furniture outlet, or see if any of the big furniture stores have a discount section or return section. You can pick up a solid wood frame that is last year's model or has a few dings for 1000 to 1500 easy. In the meantime cheap from Amazon or a tatami.

My husband and I bought our bedframe from Ashley furniture when we first moved into our house. Needless to say, it’s been five years and the bedframe is absolute garbage.
We’re looking for a bedframe that’s going to last us a very long time, one that goes with a mid-century vibe, upholstered headboard, and one that has really good central support (this is the biggest issue with the Ashley furniture frame).
I’ve been looking at Thuma but I am worried that im buying a brand and not the quality even though the reviews are looking pretty promising.
Anyway, what would yall recommend?

You can get a "Hollywood" frame, which is the metal part, with rollers or feet, and then you get a headboard that attaches, giving lots of options and styling changes. You can also get a headboard/footboard, bench and mirror set that uses this type of frame. That way, you know the frame functionally is the best.
