The best comforters of 2025, tested and reviewed
2 weeks ago - Sleep test: We took each comforter for a proper slumber to assess how comfortable (and, depending on the category, how warm or cooling) it was throughout the night. Buffy’s machine-washable Cloud comforter goes for a spin — and comes out just as cozy and silky as when it went in.

r/Bedding on Reddit: Help finding a comforter (machine washable)
June 30, 2024 -
I would greatly appreciate help finding a full-sized comforter (not a duvet) that I can put in the dryer without destroying/melting the stuffing. I’ve had them in the past, but I’m having trouble finding a new one. I’m looking to spend maybe $60 at the least (since I’m having bad luck with quality) and $150 at the most. I’m avoiding polyester for the outer fabric. Any suggestions for brands or specific comforters would be great!
I’m adding a photo of something I like…just a regular comforter 😊

What Is The Best Material For A Cooling Comforter?
There is no one best material for a cooling comforter, but there are a few that stand out as being the most desirable. Lightweight comforters made using down, silk, lyocell, bamboo viscose and cotton percale are all good choices. “Linen and cotton fabrics are more breathable and allow for a cooling effect, which is better if you run warm,” Dr. Abbasi-Feinberg says.

How to Wash a Comforter Without It Getting Lumpy | Whirlpool
December 9, 2021 - It may be tempting to tuck in underneath brand new bedding right out of the package, but it’s best to hold off until your comforter’s been thoroughly washed. Traces of chemicals may sometimes be left over from the manufacturing process, and comforters may collect other irritants during packaging and transit that can cause itchiness or discomfort. Dramatization. Washer does not have a front-facing window. Not all washers are equipped to handle the bulk of a large comforter, but a machine with enough capacity can effectively clean any comforter that’s safe to put in the washer.

January 8, 2025 - We have only had 1 comforter get stained by a guest though, the real issue is the wear and tear from the frequent laundering, which they don't seem to be constructed to withstand. ... @Tom41 I have both a thick down duvet for chilly nights and a blanket for warmer nights available for my guest bed. I have 2 covers for the duvet so I can change it out between guests while the other is being washed. Down duvets can be washed in the washing machine, then hung to dry and fluffed up near the end in a dryer.
