1st time home owner. I called Kohler and they said they won't replace it since I'm not the original owner without a receipt. So much for lifetime warranty. They also told me they would discount 25% for the replacement which the price they quoted me was more expensive than if I got a new one on their site...makes no sense at all. Anyways, some questions I had: Is there any hope to "fix" this tub spout? Any methods outside of taking the entire spout off and soaking it in vinegar/baking powder? I have no problems letting it soak for a few days since I have a 2nd shower. Or should I just give up entirely and just straight up purchase a replacement? Best way to remove the tub spout? I watched a bunch of videos but just want to make sure. Does this seem right: remove caulk around yellow arrow, unscrew set screw underneath the hole close to the wall, then spin until the spout comes loose? Is there a recommended way of removing the caulk? Go in with a utility knife or do I have to use caulk remover? Most of the videos I watch never talked about the caulk part. Thank you very much in advance. I quoted a few local plumbers but they didn't seem like they wanted to take on a small job/quoted me a high price to fix it.
