Blake Crouch hasn't come out and said anything definitive. He's supposed to be going on talk shows, podcasts and live streams after the finale drops. We'll probably find out then. Episode 9 (especially if it's extended length) should be able to finish out the story from the book - I was a bit skeptical about that, but they seem to be on track for it. He had mixed results when he overshot his own source material working on the TV adaptation of Wayward Pines. But I think the changes he made for Dark Matter made the show in many ways actually superior to the book. Not often you can say that but in this case I think it's true. If Blake has ideas about how to continue the story of Jason, Daniela and Charlie, I think the show could be great viewing into subsequent seasons. More on reddit.com

I've been paying for AppleTV for about a year now, which I hadn't realised until recently. I decided to catch up on some of their original series to make up for all i've paid, starting with Black Bird. It was incredible, Paul Walter Hauser's performance as Larry Hall is truly unforgettable/ terrifying. I had kind of sidelined AppleTV, but am looking forward to starting my next show. Severance seems pretty popular, so might start with that. Is their library quality > quantity, or pretty hit and miss?

I saw a few saying it’s a limited series, and other articles suggest that it could be getting a second season, but nothing definitive either way. Haven’t read the book either. It’s just a compelling series, I’m engrossed! I feel like even with one more episode left next week that there’s still plenty of things that they could delve back into.

I'm thinking there are several things that need closure that may not meet their end on episode 9. Amanda: Jason1 left her 2 vials. What purpose will those serve? Ryan1: he's in the same Chicago Amanda is at. Are they teaming up? Leighton1: he's travelling and having fun with a full load of ampoules. Leighton2: he was mad and looking for Jason2. With a full load of ampoules. Ryan!mechanic: he's going to rehab, that much was certain. But poor guy, he was distraught. I think that might be it for him. I'm crossing my fingers the guy finds peace. Blair2: is she never going to get out of that world? Poor woman.
