You only have to plug in the emitter/repeater if you're trying to have the bose control other components (like a dvd player) that are in a cabinet. ... Based on what you are describing, these issues indicate a hardware failure in the console (failing main/control board), not a remote issue. ... Since my LG only has HDMI controls there's no way to hook up video and audio to it so I had to use the optical sound cable ... Everything works great for sound from my TV with all its imports come out fine through the Bose system perfectly I just can't control the volume on the on off without actually pushing the buttons on the consul since the RF remote does not work

Remote is intermittent or does not control your Bose product
If you do not see a flash through the camera viewfinder when a button is pressed, the console or emitter is not sending any signal*. If you do see a flash but the remote is not working, try some other troubleshooting suggestions to help determine if the issue is the remote, console, emitters, or something else. (*Some smartphone cameras have IR filters. So, if you don't see a flash, it is worth trying both the front and rear camera or a different camera to confirm.) A remote control from another product will have different or no functionality. If your have more than one Bose remote control, refer to the owner's guide of the product you are trying to control to be sure you using the right remote control.

I would start by calling Bose direct first. The company prides themselves on quality and may help you over the phone. Worst case, they will have you ship the unit back for repair.
A second option would be to take to a local electronic repair store- would be a relatively simple repair, but would require a tech with knowledge to complete

@ajcooke01 · can’t give up on iFixit. Of course you tried the reset: · Unplug the multi-room interface power pack for a few seconds, then reconnect it. This allows the unit to reset itself after a power surge or power interruption. · and you tried to re-establish a connection: · If NO RESPONSE is continuously displayed, the link between your music center and the multi-room interface may be broken. To re-establish the link, hold the center close to the interface. Press and hold MUTE for about 5 seconds until you hear a second beep. After about 10 seconds, you should hear two beeps to confirm that the link is established. · Note: The music center establishes a link with the closest multi-room interface. · If you have the multiroom interface you could try to control it through a computer interface. Came across this thread while having the same problem after relocating my Bose Lifestyle 50. I discovered that if I disconnect all/any speaker sets (in my case only Room A) from the multi-room interface, the Personal Music Center remote started “hunting” for a room, flashing A..B..C..D, so I guessed there was a connection between remote and interface. I reseated all my connections, and in my case it seemed that powering off and on the sub woofer solved the problem. All working now! It looks like “No Response” means more than just remote cannot access interface.
