I can't find my QC 35 II headphones on the Bose Music app on my phone, although it is already connected to my phone.

The QC 35 is still a huge item. Many still buy it over the newer NC 700. Also, Bose just recently released the gaming version of the QC 35, so why not just move it over to the Bose Music App? It can't possibly be that hard, and it would save people like myself that have the QC 35 and the QC earbuds from having two separate apps on my phone for bose products.
I've been using my Bose QC35 II together with a Sony Xperia 5 II for some time now. I use the Bose App to switch between three different sources for headset use. For some days now, I can no longer connect the App to the headset. The Bluetooth connection works, but the App stays in "Connecting..." until it displays the grey screen telling me it cannot connect. The app behaves as if the headset was swicthed off. I'm not sure, but the App might have stopped working after I installed the latest update from Sony to Android 12.
The fun thing is that the headset is working without a problem with the phone. I can listen to music or talk on the phone. But I need the app to switch connections.
So far I've de- and reinstalled the app, rebooted the mobile, reset the headset, deleted the headset's connections (hold the pair button for 10 secs), updated the headset to the latest firmware, and re-paired. I have no more ideas what to try.
I've used an old Android device to connect to the headset and there the app works right away as it should.
Does anyone have any more ideas?
I just replaced my five year old QC 35s with some 700s. The Bose Music app will not detect either one of the headphones, and Bose Connect will do both. The main thing I want the app for is the equalizer so I’m just confused on why BM will not work or detect my products when my phone and BC do. Occasionally my 700s will show up but when “select an accessory” pops up it’s blank. Any help?
