September 22, 2022HELP- TikTok accounts were created with passkeys, I deleted the passkey for both but when I attempt to put in a password it says “something went wrong try again later” I’ve been trying again later for days and TikTok support is not helping
Why did you delete the passkeys? Do you mean you just deleted them from your password manager, or did you attempt to remove them from the account before setting a password? Depending on what password manager you’re using, you may be able to recover recently deleted items. If that doesn’t help, then your only hope is TikTok support or account recovery procedures. So I created a tiktok account on my laptop using their website, NOT the mobile app. It was a while ago and I forgot the password and even how I set up the account (it was set up with probably an email - def not a phone number). When I go to the site from my chrome login, it does auto log me in which is nice, but the desktop client doesn't let you change your email address or even see what email it is, so I have no way to reset my password. If I ever get logged out, the account is effectively gone. How can I fix this? I need this particular account.
TLDR: How can I resent either my email OR password from within the TikTok website (NOT the mobile app).
EDIT: I appreciate tips regarding people (individuals) to reach out to who can help me reset it, but I don't feel comfortable giving someone my handle and giving them control to reset it. I need to find a legitimate way to do it through customer support or the website itself. No offense of course, I'm just not comfortable with that.
