If you have a TJ Maxx near you they have sheet sets for $20. They aren't luxury but they are still quite comfortable

Go to Bed Bath and Beyond and Target and see what's on clearance. I've scored full sheet sets at both places for over 75% off. It's completely luck but they regularly put nice sheets on huge discount when they need to make room for new merchandise. This is especially true if its the last stock of a specific brand. We got Targets highest line of sheets a few months ago for less than their lowest budget brand.

So recently I decided to purchase a bed set from Amazon that had some pretty good reviews but I made the mistake of not reading into the Thread Count and now have to return the bedding because it's incredibly uncomfortable. The thread count is 180 and made of Cotton and Polyester blend so it's very rough. Im now trying to find an affordable duvet cover/pillow cover set that is white with ruffle details. Ive found some promising ones on Etsy but there aren't any in depth reviews...
TLDR: Has anyone had luck with buying bedding sets from Etsy? If not what are some other affordable places to buy a bedding set thats at least 300 Thread Count? (Affordable for me is $65 and under)
Edit: I returned the uncomfortable bed set I got and got one on Amazon that was only $66 and super comfortable, called Heimen Aogo, it claims to be 600 TC Egyptian Cotton, but with the price point its at, I highly doubt thats what its made of. However its still super comfortable and i'm happy with my purchase! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Thread count is actually not the important factor. First off, most brands mislead people by using multi-ply construction. A 200TC with 4 ply will be advertised as 800TC. And it is true that most quality brands are in the 250-500 TC range, but it’s the quality of cotton that you need to look for. There is generally extra long staple, long staple, and short staple. The longer the better. Unfortunately you’d need to pay nearly 4x your budget to get into long staple by a quality brand. Polyester blends are definitely not ideal as you’ve found out, but for $65 there aren’t too many great alternatives. Unfortunately bedding is one of the industries where you need to pay to get good quality. Etsy is a marketplace with numerous sellers, but anyone selling bedding for $65 isn’t going to be delivering long staple/ELS cotton. If it’s at all possible, I’d highly suggest trying to save more and delay your new purchase. It’ll probably come out cheaper in the long run by not needing to replace it as quickly, but I understand not everyone can do that. Wish you luck!

JCPenney has some good lines. I like the Wrinkle Guard 400tc. When they have holiday sales, it is discounted substantially. Someone here said they got a Queen set for $49 on Black Friday. President day it was $59 I believe. So check back on Easter, Memorial Day, etc. I have several sets and I’ve been happy with them. Don’t know if they have duvet covers.

I've been a "grab a neutral TJ Maxx sheets set" girl for years. I've brought the same sheets and comforters from apartment to apartment and I'm ready to upgrade to something more quality to finally cultivate my dream adult aesthetic. I genuinely have no idea what are good places to buy from. I'm willing to splurge for something that feels cool but is also luxe quality. My personal style is mid century and adding kitschy but thoughtful pieces to it!
I'm trying to avoid patterns and instead go for a single color. I'd like to find something in olive green, a golden warm yellow, or a toasted orange.

I really love the Threshold 400ct sheets at Target (I linked a green set). They’re super soft and have held up well for the last few years AND have tabs on the top and bottom that say “TOP/BOTTOM”, which is probably my fave 🤣 I’m also more of an alternative down comforter and duvet kind of girly, and found it’s easy to just swap duvets to change-up the color scheme. Target’s Opalhouse has had some super cute prints since they launched that brand awhile back.
