Switch from Chrome OS Legacy App to Zoom PWA
As we previously communicated, we have ended support for our legacy Chrome OS App and will be phasing it out over the next several months. We are asking all customers to switch to the Zoom progressive web application (PWA) for the most up-to-date and feature-rich experience.

November 24, 2021 - The spokesperson added that the original Zoom app for Chrome OS is still available, but the company is looking into our findings of the “Zoom client must be upgraded” message as well as the blank video issue. r/chromeos on Reddit: The new Zoom PWA on chromebook - but how to launch it?
November 20, 2020 -
I was delighted to install the new Zoom PWA released to the playstore today. MUCH more full featured than the old web version even at this early stage. But there seems to be no way to launch it from a zoom invitation link (unless somebody knows something I don't.) With the old Android version you could right click the link, but that doesn't seem to work for the PWA.

Likely need to manually open zoom and use the "join meeting" for now. At a Google I/O Chrome OS dev presentation they said they were working on app linking to PWAs which, when enabled, would automatically open the Zoom PWA in the case you describe. I had to cut and paste the meeting ID and then the passcode into the PWA. Lots of "bugs?" to be worked out, certainly
