I understand you are probably trying to counter the heavy right-angle square squares squares elements around it tile, window, stand, chair, ru), etc) but to me that circular table is too much removed from the squares. I wonder if an asymmetrical rounded shape would be better, like a skewed oval or egg shape. Or that round-corner triangular kind, might be better. As for wood bs glass, go wood. Your room has many beautiful, deep woody tones that nod to eras where glass tabletops had yet to emerge. I think wood is more classic, will be less likely to look outdated, and won’t require constant cleaning to keep looking clean. Bonus: wood has the option to be painted or (if it’s real wood and not particleboard kinda stuff). Finally, glass right there might interstate sunlight though the window and refracct to obnoxious places like your TV screen. What a beautiful room though. More on reddit.com

Im using an IKEA Lack coffee table as a floor desk, just don't install the lower piece when you put it together (for leg room). No further modifications needed. For $30 it has made for an excellent desk & work surface so far, highly recommend. More on reddit.com

I've been in the look for a Japandi coffee table so was over the moon when I learned that IKEA had come out with this new collection but there are only 2 reviews on the website and they're both awful. Is it that bad? I just want something to complement my japandi interior theme. Would love to hear if it's decent enough for someone who doesn't want to spend $600 on a coffee table.

I had a look at the reviews and it seems people are criticising the use of particleboard with oak veneer. I think these commenters don’t understand furniture construction… even vintage Danish MCM tables in this style were made with particleboard with teak veneer. It would be very unusual to see solid oak for the top - for one thing planks are just not wide enough and the top should be seamless. I haven’t seen this in person so can’t comment on the quality myself. I would expect the veneer would be quite thin (true of all modern furniture) which only matters if you are trying to refinish it.

I’ve got one. It’s pretty solid. Yeah the tops a veneer, but it seems robust enough as a coffee table and the rest of it is real wood. It’s quite low but that’s the style. Easy to put together. If you like the style and the colour I’d give it a go, especially at the price. I’m half tempted to try oiling or staining mine a little darker, and if I ruin it I could always buy another.

Never the glass top coffee table. It will always look dusty and feel fragile.

Literally every table or desk can be used if you have a saw. If you didn't have a saw, buy one for 10 bucks.
