I’ve been doing commercial plumbing for over 20 years. Thousands and thousands of joints on each project. I can tell you, when you test the water system, we had WAY more leaks back when everything was soldered than we do with propress. Answer from humanzee70 on reddit.com

r/Plumbing on Reddit: My plumber uses this to join copper pipe and not solder. Any thing I need to worry about?
September 1, 2021 - As long as he prepped and cleaned the pipe , those are great. ... Not at all. That's a high-end Viega Propress fitting. I am a plumber and I did my whole house with these fittings. These fittings cost a little more but for the time savings I don't even know why I sweat copper anymore. In my experience these feelings have been extremely reliable. Other than it not being a good idea to solder right next to them, there's no disadvantage using these instead of soldering.

transition from copper without solder? | DIY Home Improvement Forum
Finally, the total losses in a typical plumbing system are relatively small compared to the total head in the system, so the discussion is essentially irrelevant as far as normal residential use is concerned. As far as the cost of tools, absolutely it costs more to buy a PEX ring installer and PEX tubing cutter than a torch, paste, copper tubing cutter, and solder. If you know what you are doing, copper works fine. However, sweating copper is a royal pain in the ass if you cannot get the pipes dry, or your are uncomfortable using a torch, or you have acidic water which is likely to damage copper piping and fittings.

How to Solder Copper Pipes | Oatey
Heat is applied to a joint between two metal parts—typically copper pipes and fittings—allowing the filler metal to flow into the joint and creating a watertight seal. Solder is an alloy of different metals, varying depending on the application. Traditionally, solder was made from lead; however, lead solders are no longer used for such applications due to the adverse effects of lead in potable water systems.
