Perhaps this isn't the best place to ask this.
I'm using an RX580, and would like to use Corectrl to overclock the GPU.
However, I've noticed that on manual mode, I cannot increase the clock speeds above the default values.
Is there a way to increase it beyond the stock values? I know there is a way to do it, as other have successfully done os, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks

I overclocked using corectrl. It stays in system tray. When I restart my pc, it does not autostart(I have not added those extra lines needed to autostart). Does the overclocking persists or do I have to start it everytime for the oc to happen? I am new sorry.
AMD Radeon RX 580 (PowerColor Red Devil 8GB), at 1500MHz core and 2050MHz VRAM. Everything auto besides those two changes. Also, running FurMark (Windows version) through WINE, just for testing purposes. While gaming, my GPU can hold 1500MHz no problem on Linux, using Steam Play (Proton), but on Windows it crashes at 1490MHz. Interesting to see that Linux (Ubuntu in this case) can hold a overclock better than Windows. I need to push it harder on Ubuntu to see what it can achieve.
Anyone know if Corectrl has support for memory overclocks for the Big Navi cards? I'm currently running a RX 6800 on Manjaro on linux 5.15.19-1 headers. The only settings I have available are gpu core clocks, power limit, voltage offset, and fan curve. I'm hoping that I just have a buggy install. Thanks for the help.
These are also the options I see (with 6800 XT, kernel 5.15.15, CoreCtrl 1.3.0).
I'm not closely following CoreCtrl development but I believe they are still working on full support for these cards. They only added proper voltage offset a few months ago.
Same for me, i hope the dev will add the mem-settings in the future.
So how would one reset CoreCtrl settings if you were dumb enpugh to save bad gpu OC and now it crashes the pc when you start it?
Why CoreCtrl advanced performance mode wont let me overclock my gpu? Highest the core clock and memory sliders go are the normal speeds of the card?
Am i missing something?
Hi I am new to fedora and recently switched from the OS that should not be named. First of all I love fedora 35 and everything is working great.
However one problem I cant tackle is with regards to CoreCtrl.
I installed CoreCtrl, but it gives me limited options. I cant adjust power limit nor can I undervolt/overclock my card. This is to be expected as in the readme file on their gitlab is written that I need to add some command lines to grub-default to enable the feature.
Now to my question how do I edit: /etc/default/grub. As I want to add amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xffffffff to enable the additional features of CoreCtrl.
Thanks in advance :D

Hi AMD users.
I've seen over the past weeks some requests for a linux port of AMD Adrenalin Software on some threads of this subreddit. Turns out that last month I released a wattman like application to control AMD GPUs under GNU/Linux. Its name is CoreCtrl.
Here is a video overview of its main features.
Try it if you want. Always prefer to install it from your distribution packages (when available). Check the project page for more info. Also, you may want to read some parts of the wiki, specially the Setup, AMD GPUs and FAQ sections. Please, read the last one if you use fancontrol on your system.
Keep in mind that CoreCtrl was released recently. If you find application related bugs, please go to the issue tracker on the project page, search for similar bugs and report them if you cannot find any opened issue (please, avoid to write in closed issues, your reports could be unnoticed if you do so).
Hope you can find it useful.
NOTE: I will be away from my computer for over a week, so be patient if you report bugs.
This is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for your hard work. Ease of overclocking is one of the things that has made me stick with windows and this makes it so much easier.
Holy shit, if this turns out to actually work, you will be my personal hero!
