I’m a professional installer. Have used Costco flooring dozens of times with great results. The locking system is no different (maybe stronger) than much of what is available at your retailer for almost double the cost. The specs are good-the wearlayer, the overall thickness, the pad quality. I prefer the Luxuria though. It’s the heaviest of what they’ve sold in recent years. Very dense core. Solid lock. I’m installing some right now and have another job upcoming with it. As far as “your retailer will have more in a year when you need it”….ive seen that be untrue so many times it’s not funny. Manufacturers drop colours and entire lines whenever they feel like it. As someone who purchases from retailers also, there’s always a big pile of “discontinued” samples sitting at the stores dumpster. There are zero guarantees that you can buy more of anything. As a floor coverings installer, I don't recommend laminate at all anymore, for any application. Even if flooding or moisture isnt a pressing issue, particle board is shit. Look into LVT (LVP), luxury vinyl tile (plank). Fairly new type of covering. It snaps together like laminate, but is completely 100% waterproof, and doesn't scratch or chip like laminate/wood. They make all kinds of textures, including wood. Go to Lowe's/Home Depot/whatever and check it out. It will hold up for 20+ years without fading from traffic or water damage. Only costs $1-2 per sq ft for the material (depending on quality) and I install it for $2 per ft. Food for thought. More on reddit.com

As with a bunch of the services available through Costco, this is contracted out to someone in your area. The flooring doesn't come from Costco, and neither the salespersons nor the installers work for Costco. Because of that, it's probably not really useful to you what anyone's experience has been unless they live in your immediate area. I would check the following after the in-home consultation: reviews on the exact flooring product(s) you are considering, and reviews on the local company that would be doing the install, which should be listed on any paperwork the salesperson gives you when they come to your house More on reddit.com
