July 23, 2020Is a Cotopaxi 35L for a under 5ft/petite body DOABLE?
I have the 35L at 5’3” and it’s too big. I loved the idea of the compartments, but the bag has no structure so everything just sags to the bottom. When it’s fully packed out, the bag is extremely heavy. Even my husband, who lifts weights and such, thought the bag was uncomfortable to carry. It just doesn’t distribute weight correctly, even with the hip belt. I wanted to love this bag so much because it’s cute and I can get super organized. Unfortunately, it’s just not great for me. I don’t think briefcases (of any type) are very popular these days. I commute daily in a big city and backpacks and shoulder/messenger bags seem to be the overwhelming choice. And Cotopaxi already has an extensive line of those. More on reddit.com

I'm looking for a economy or modernly priced messenger bag with detachable straps that I can use for travel It needs to be smaller than the limit (18 x 14 x 8 inches (45 x 35 x 20 cm) on various US base airlines.
Below is an example of what I'm looking for: Mens Messenger Bag 15.6 by Newhey on Amazon. Unfortunately, many reviews mention it's poor construction quality, especially with the zippers and straps.
I also like Tmbuk2 and Herschel but don't think that the straps are detachable. Are there others?
