Looks like a really handy code generator. If you've got a color chart open in another tab, you could have great Gutenberg fun. However, I do have problems with the section on how to use the code. Adding code to Functions.php is fraught for a couple reasons. The biggie is that its a theme-specific script, so you lose your custom code if you switch themes. While it's not that big a deal to copy and paste into functions.php in the new theme, there are clients who will want a new theme regularly (trust me), plus copy pasta is considered a code smell, and not a nice one. On the other hand, there are also clients who never want you to change anything except make it better, but don't change anything, but make it better, but never change. In that case, you're probably ok to use functions.php because you're keeping the 2010 theme or whatever forever. Also, WP best practices is to keep code and design separate, which is why we can switch themes without messing up code or content, which is a core reason for WP's awesomeness. A site-specific plugin might be the better home for your custom code than functions.php. Back in the day, writing your own plugin separated the apprentices from the adepts, but these days there are plugins that help you make your own plugin, and how cool is that? Custom CSS in your theme is also risky, as you're at the mercy of theme updates, which may or may not wipe out your custom CSS. The better home is in a child theme. Updates to the parent theme keep the site secure without trashing your custom styles. Disclaimer: I'm still a Gutenberg noob, so I don't know if Gutenberg throws everything I just said into a cocked hat, but that wouldn't be very Wordpressy. The trend has been to make customization both easier and safer. WPBeginner, a site I highly recommend whether you're a beginner or not, has a helpful article on how functions.php works and where it's located and why you should probably use something else for your custom code: https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/functions-php/ . The author recommends using the Code Snippets plugin instead. I've never used that plugin, but I might just add it to a test site to see if this nifty code generator still works in a safer environment. More on reddit.com
