r/MechanicalKeyboards on Reddit: [help] Another Das Keyboard 4 with power issues (seemingly)
February 26, 2021 -

I have a Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate which has been giving me some trouble as of late. I've found that there are certain USB ports which fail to recognize the keyboard and I'm left with all the power LEDs on the keyboard blinking on and off.

This hasn't been an issue in the past and it could be explained away by the USB ports themselves starting to fail, but no other devices show any problems. I'll try a few things, but the control board inside the keyboard looks fine visually. I'll re-seat the USB micro b 10 pin connector on the control board and if that doesn't seem to help I can probe around with a multimeter but I'm not sure what I'd even be looking for other than a bad solder joint causing continuity issues.

Any thoughts? I've noticed that other posts about this same issue don't tend to get any comments so maybe it's just something that's bound to happen with the Das keyboards.

For others that come across this post with issues on their Das Keyboard 4. What worked for me was following the instructions from u/19-kilo in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/hejqxg/das_keyboard_4_pro_firmware/ The Pro and Ultimate use the same firmware, which makes sense because the only difference is whether the keycaps are printed. After updating the firmware the keyboard is now recognized properly whether it's plugged in at boot or after I get into Windows. I did notice that the firmware on the keyboard was updated from S1947V31 to S1947V33, however I couldn't find any information to see what the difference was between the two. I also couldn't find any changelog or information on the Das Keyboard website or looking for HYISP. I mention HYISP because that's apparently the USB hub or controller board that is used in the Das Keyboard 4 and the three blinking lights appear to be an indicator that the keyboard was starting up in some kind of diagnostic or update mode. It had gotten to the point where I couldn't reliably get my DK4 Ultimate to recognize at all, no matter what I tried. Hopefully this fix lasts, and if not I'll try the updater again and likely conclude that something is corrupting the firmware on the keyboard itself. Hopefully there was just an incompatibility that emerged with the old ...31 version and that's fixed in the ...33 version.

I have the same problem with das 4 pro, 3 endlessly blinking leds after plugging in the keyboard, and not responding when nkro is on. So i checked the firmware version via firmware updater and it was found to be 33 which should not have the problem according to this thread. But in case there was something I was missing I ran the updater and update finished successfully. But, as expected, that didn’t work. This is pretty disappinting for its reputation and price. They even do not provide the firmware officially on their website. I was shocked for this a little bit. And another disappointment is that it is unable to wake up computer in sleep mode (another keyboard of mine or my mouse can) even though it has dedicated sleep button. It’s pretty embarassing.

r/MechanicalKeyboards on Reddit: Is the Das Keyboard 4 Firmware Updateable?
July 16, 2015 -

On the product page, the description says the keyboard is "Firmware updatable"; however, I haven't seen any firmware updates for this.

Has anyone seen any updates for the keyboards from the company or custom firmwares?

June 7, 2020 - I'm not sure what Das models they have firmware updates for. I did not find any links. Maybe email them? I may do the same, as I figure every OS update can bring about issues with software and hardware. Oh for the days of the //+ I had, no updates there So what OS version are you running right now? I don't know if this will be of any help but the label on mine says Model No. is DASK4MACCLI-3G7-r1.2 Kind of hard to type it out with the keyboard upside down Kidding of course!

August 30, 2018 -

Hey guys!
Not long ago I bought a Das Keyboard 4 Professional with brown switches. I am really liking it, except for a small issue: after turning on my computer, the following keys does not work: qweruiop789. If I unplug and plug in the keyboard agian, everything works fine until I turn off the computer and turn it on again. Any ideas to solve this will be appreciated! (I tried it in different USB ports, same issue).

Das Keyboard 4 Professional
Aesthetically speaking, the board is unmistakably a Das. Its overall weight will attest to the fact that it's a well-built keyboard. It offers a robust set of features with updateable firmware that improve on previous offerings and is a pleasure to type on. All of Metadot's mechanical keyboards have a one year manufacturer's warranty and a three year warranty if purchased directly from the company. Pricing starts at $169 for the Professional ... Metadot is arguably responsible for pioneering the commercial mechanical keyboard market, much like OCZ did with solid state drives. We've seen a numb
