My newer delta shower faucet is already dripping when turned off so I am going to replace the cartridge. When I checked the handle there is no set screw but a small rubber feeling plug that feels spring loaded.
Looking at the delta website, they describe this as a push-fit handle that requires no tools. They have 2 sets of instructions. One says pull straight out from the faucet and the handle will release. The other says align the handle with the spout and pull straight out until the handle releases. They do mention it will take some force when pulling.
I have tried both ways with no luck. I am pulling hard enough that the side of the shower and faucet are flexing out some and still getting no movement from the handle. I'm afraid to pull any harder and cause damage to the faucet.
Is anybody familiar with these that could give me some advice?

The screw is covered behind a rubber plug Here I am almost a year later again with the leak issue starting to get worse and harder to close completely. After searching, using Google image search and reading installation manuals, I realized that these handles have rubber plugs inserted. Why? I'm not sure, aside from maybe keeping water out of the handle where the screw goes in. I couldn't figure out how to get the plug out, so I just used a tiny screwdriver and pushed and twisted until it tore and moved it aside. Lo and behold, there is the screw. But the idiot who installed this (we bought as a new home) stripped the screw. None of my Allen keys fit enough to take it out. That's another problem, but for those who have this issue or similar product, there's your potential answer.
