What is a proposal in digital marketing?
A proposal in digital marketing (or a digital marketing proposal) is a comprehensive document that carefully lays down information about the digital marketing company, the services they offer, the pricing of these services, and other details. A marketing proposal, on the other hand, may be more broad in nature, and will include details about marketing strategy and goals (according to current trends), implementation and payment specifics, and terms and conditions.

Background: I’ve managed content/marketing for a high profile client for a few years and have recently had a real estate company with a 10k monthly ad budget reach out to ask if I consult. I’m no longer working for the high profile client and would like to consult.
Our call went well, they told me they needed more traffic to their website and UX help since their traffic isn’t converting and people aren’t using the tools or pages they should be.
They have a 80k email list. But because they currently have no marketing strategy, and have thrown money at ads that haven’t worked, I see myself spending 6-8 weeks researching, going through their data and putting together a content, ux and digital strategy for them before I even started to implement.
Wondering if expecting them to pay for this length of time spent on strategy is off the mark? I’ve went through their data and have seen a few issues with their seo, ux and ads, but still think they need a full plan in place before I start spending their ad dollars and this isn’t something I feel should be provided for free. I can’t in good faith send them an implementation plan of “I’ll be running ads, fix your seo, create a blog” before I analyze what’s going on and the best way to solve these issues. Curious what the marketing community thinks. Should I be packaging implementation into the strategy and pitch them all at once for everything? Should I be pitching them on smaller projects instead of 15k worth of work putting together a strategy to increase traffic, funnels to split test and fix UX issues?
Aside from that, was wondering if anyone might have advice for a one page proposal or willing to share a version of their client proposals? Everything on google keeps leading me to one page marketing plans, which is not what I’m looking for, and I’m leery of trusting chatgpts version without something to bench mark it against
