I bought a new mattress yesterday for the third time in a year and still woke up with lower back pain. Not being able to sleep more than 6 hours is getting old. I'm beginning to think my box spring is the culprit. Does anyone have a similar experience with this? I will feel stupid if it was the box spring the whole time but I'm running out of options to find better sleep. Should I try a bunkie board? Has anyone switched from box spring to bunkie with great success??
2 years back we bought a Helix Midnight Luxe and it's been great but about 3 months ago, I started waking up feeling really stiff all throughout my back that's most often at its worst when I get up in the morning and mostly loosens up after a few hours of movement. I've tried sleeping with a pillow under my legs when I'm on my back and in between my knees on my side with little to no relief.
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information and I can't seem to find good ways of determining:
How can I tell if it's the mattress?
If we decide to get something new, how do I decide if I need something firmer or softer?
We have a decent spring mattress in our guest room. If I sleep on that to see how it affects my back, is there a good time period where I can definitely say whether or not my back pain is from our Helix?
Has anyone heard any comments about the Helix brand in general and if back pain is common?
Side note: Seen doctors for x-rays and 2 MRIs for a pinched nerve in L4/L5 and was assured everything looked completely normal everywhere else. Any info is much appreciated.
