Ok, so we built the kitchen with the standard ready made cabinets from one of the big box stores. The wood parts are holding up well. However, we couldn't upgrade the slides at the time as they were already built.
It's time to replace them. I don't want to get random junk from Amazon. Some of the brands I've seen here are Knape and Vogt, Blum, and one or two others that I seem to have lost track of.
There is 1/2" between the side and the face. They are mounted on the rear with a small bracket.
Is it as simple as out with the old and in with the new? Anything I need to watch out for or make sure I do?
They are 22 inch. Planning on getting full extension soft closing.
Thank you for your help.
This is what we currently have in use.Videos
I think you have two options here.
Either you repair that hole by filling it with epoxy resin or another suitable filler. After that you may have to drill it again to make sure it has the right diameter and position.
Or you drill a bigger hole and use an insert nut (see wikipedia). Then you also have to replace the special scew depicted by a suitable countersunk machine screw. Of course it depends on the thickness of your board, whether you can use an insert nut.
I have used tooth picks and white glue to fill stripped holes, I don't know how well that will work on particle board. If a toothpick won't work I would get a 1/2" dowel drill a 1/2" hole and glue the dowel in place once the glue is dry drill a pilot hole for the screw and this will be stronger than the original particle board.
Hello all!
Awhile back, I bought a very nice dresser that had one malfunctioning drawer (it was heavily discounted because of that). I finally want to set aside a little time and fix the drawer, but am not quite sure where to start. I cannot lift the drawer off of the track like normal drawers. The problem is that the rear of the drawer seems to have become dislodged from the track, and it's very wobbly as a result. Please see the photo album and explanation video below:

The drawer hardware/track is on the bottom of the drawer. There is no way for me to access the back of the unit. It's a solid wood panel. Any thoughts or advice? Apologies for the poor photo/video – please let me know if I can describe anything else, or post additional photos.
Thank you all!
I got this dresser from goodwill an employee helpfully removed the drawers to make moving it lighter, but broke all of them while doing so.
I have repaired the top three rails using a spare parts kit I found online, but the two bottom rails look like they extend and internally slide open, and some parts may he missing. I don’t really know what.
The backing on the bottom two rails is different than the top but also have some variation. Where do I start?
