I'm on a similar quest, it's surprising how unpopular green is. You've probably already figured this out, but in addition to forest green you might find search terms such as "fern", "army green", and "moss" to be useful. In cool weather it could be worn with a turtle neck and boots. The dress is made to your own measurements. Easiest way to do it would be to get a gathering foot for your machine, even though the foot takes some learning to get the gathers right:

There are several kinds of gathering feet and they help to keep the gathers even. The "floral stripes" would help you to align the pattern properly for cutting. As for the buttons, honestly they're a little odd and worn, so I wouldn't use them for a regular garment. Maybe for an apron, lounge garment, or to close some home dec pillow covers instead, after practicing making buttonholes. You have enough fabric there for more than one item.
