Its not clogged anywhere. Ive cleaned it throughly and noticed it gets warmer when running than it did. And has lost some suction. I read there are 2 filters on each side of the ball apparatus that are hepa. If these are clogged. Would this be my issue?: if so I need 2 OEM replacements. Can anyone help me out

The pre motor filter is washable and is not a HEPA filter, try washing it first. The post motor filter is HEPA and is not washable, Dyson claims it’s a lifetime filter, but they really need to be replaced at some point, every 3 years is common. You may also have a clog in the cyclone assembly, you can find videos on YouTube showing how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the part. If you don’t feel capable, you can bring it to a vacuum shop for a tuneup (be sure to mention cleaning the cyclone assembly) prices can vary a lot, so you may want to call around.

Any suggestions on how to safely clean the filters on the hand held dyson?
My hubby has just cleaned it under running water, much to my horror (yes he's had an adult beverage or 2). He is adamant that he didn't get the "electric parts/battery" wet and all will be fine.
I am very reluctant to use the device again, even after its dry. Has anyone else ever cleaned the filter under running water and then uneventfully used the (dried) vacuum again?
I'm seriously unhappy about his "cleaning" technique but would be happy to be wrong so please be totally honest about your views/experience.
Edited to add, it's the central (middle of chamber) filter so still on the device when he was rinsing it, even though he "didn't get the electric parts wet". Thanks all for the suggestions, I will look at the videos 👍

Did he wash just the filter, or the complete vacuum cleaner? If it's just the filter, the fine. But you must not put it back until it's 100% bone dry. Any moisture will be drawn into the motor and will kill it in seconds. If he washed the cleaner itself, then leave it for a couple of days on top of a radiator, and keep your fingers crossed it's OK.
