What strategies can you trade with options Tier 1?
What strategies can you trade with options Tier 3?
What are options tiers?
Fidelity cannot approve tier one options for a 40 year old man with 20k in thier brokerage account. Is tier one not the kiddie pool? Granted I have no experience trading options before my application but I think I understand the risks! When this application gets denied who do you recommend I move my business to? Edit: this is my second application, filled out honestly, for tier one.
Anyone know the requirements for getting a higher option tier? I’ve had Tier 1 since I’ve opened my account but never get accepted for Tier 2. Not sure how strict they are with giving people new option tiers. Would love to learn more about their process if anyone knows. Thanks!
I have been approved for tier one options trading. I've noticed that the strategies are very limited it seems. To my knowledge I cant do put credit spreads, iron corridors, butterfly etc. I'm confused because to my knowledge these strategies mitigate risks. It makes sense that I cant sell naked options. But why are these less risky strategies not allowed. Let me know if I have any information incorrect. Thank you.
I simply want to be able to BUY and SELL options CALLS and PUTS already listed for sale, and simply make money on the premium gain or lose money and never actually exercise the option. Would Level 1 Options trading allow me to simply Buy/Sell options and then make money on the premium rise and sell it before it actually needs to be exercised? Or would i have to apply for level 2 options or 3 or ??
My intent is to write basic covered calls and cash secured puts within my accounts. I understand that I need to apply for Tier 1 options trading within an account to start doing this. Can it be within my IRAs or does it have to be a regular brokerage account?
Is it possible to trade options (buying to open puts/calls, selling to close those options, cash secured puts and calls) in a Fidelity Roth IRA? I understand 0DTE is off the table. I have a 401k through work.
Thanks.
I have employer based 401k with brokerage link with fidelity. I want to enable tier 1 option trading in the account. How to apply and enable the same ? The chat support couldn’t answer the question.
