Has anyone ever taken on one of these hide-away collapsible step stools? Any tips? I don't have a CNC, I was thinking a lot of plunge cuts, the hardware would be an interesting challenge too.
Wouldn't need CNC. Just some careful routering, possibly with a 1/4" bit. I've made similar type shapes when making campervan furniture. Obviously if you're wanting to make a batch of them, CNC or a really precise jig is the way to go. More on reddit.com

You can just search for single step ladders with 1AA ratings, i.e., 375 pounds.
