I received the below email on August 6th a day after I filed a complaint email to Verizon executives over the removal of my non expiring loyalty discount.

“ No trade-in required and you can keep your current plan. XXXX, We're glad to have you as part of the Verizon family. To show our appreciation, a line on your account is eligible to upgrade and get iPhone 16 on us. No trade-in required. Keep your current plan. To take advantage of this offer, call 800 .922 .0204 today. It’s our way of saying thanks for being a valued customer. “

I called Verizon and asked if it was true. The sales rep woman said yes, new iPhone no extra cost. I knew there was some catch because there is no way they will give a new phone without a trade in. Verizon is doing some shady crap by allowing a bring your own device discount for a line for 36 months which allows for a new iPhone that’s then switched to my current line, while the other new line just sits idle. Now you may think this is a great idea but think twice. My stupid *** agreed and the sales rep said my bill would go down. I saw the 36 month credit for the line cost, the credit for the new iPhone, and the new 25$ loyalty discount that’s attached to my account.

Now since they want to swap my phones between lines, she tried charging me 2 $40 activation fees to which I said no, she said one would be removed. Okay fine, so I agreed and signed my life away for 36 months all because of this bait and switch email. A few hours later I checked my next bill estimate.. $176 WTF?? The second activation fee is still in there, some other line costs which isn’t cancelled out by the line credit. I called and the second rep said that they can’t do anything will bills until they post. Mines scheduled to be posted on August 15th so I will see what they can do.

On the new monthly bill that’s under the same next bill estimate page, shows the 25$ loyalty discount 2-3 lines. But also on my account it shows that on September 1st a loyalty discount that’s $25 is going away. I tried asking and the sales rep became so flustered. I have 30 days to change my mine which is what I’ll probably do. Now I knew once she said adding a new line that a bunch of stuff would change but not everyone is smart and just agree to Verizon’s crazy practices. Beware!!

Received this email this morning. I can keep my current phone, and plan? I assume it will just be 36 months of credits? Anyone know if that is the only catch for this? It seemed like the previous offers all required a plan change.

I see this Verizon deal for the 17pro and 4 lines, $100/mo no trade in. T-mobile I see a similar offer but for the base 17. I want to switch to t-mobile and am wondering if anyone knows whether they will match that Verizon deal?
