Israel has destroyed more than 1,500 buildings in Gaza since ceasefire
November 12, 2025 - BBC Verify's visual analysis of satellite imagery has found that the destruction of buildings in Gaza by the Israeli military has been continuing on a huge scale. 'There is no real ceasefire' — why the plan to end war in Gaza has stalled, with few countries willing to help | CBC News
1 week ago - Panellists on Israeli Channel 12 discuss the status of the ceasefire with Hamas, on Dec. 18. (Channel 12 Israel) That, in a nutshell, is why the 20-point plan agreed to by Israel and Hamas, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, backed by Qatar, Turkey and Egypt and endorsed by the UN Security Council, is now effectively on life support. Like the donkey carts trudging along Gaza’s windy, rain-soaked dirt roads, it will take an immense effort by someone — likely only Trump — to get things moving again.

A Reckoning for the Stalled Gaza Peace Plan | The New Yorker
1 day ago - In mid-November, the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution endorsing the plan, which Trump’s Ambassador to the U.N., Mike Waltz, hailed as “charting a new course in the Middle East for Israelis and Palestinians.” The Palestinian Authority’s Vice-President, Hussein al-Sheikh, later met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and a U.S. representative in Ramallah, and commended the efforts of Trump and mediating governments in “consolidating the ceasefire, facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and moving toward the making of peace, security, and stability.” For weeks, though, the plan has been stuck in phase one, despite the White House’s claims that the transition to the next phase is imminent, and Gaza has continued to deteriorate under conditions the ceasefire was meant to end.

In Gaza we’re trapped in an endless maze of waiting – for peace, for the deaths to stop and for our lives to begin again | Aya Al-Hattab | The Guardian
4 days ago - Benjamin Netanyahu said this month that the first phase of the ceasefire is near to completion. Unfortunately for Palestinians, none of it has translated into reality yet, and we remain excluded from the very negotiations that speak about our future without us. The beautiful Gaza we dream of returning to has gone.
