I recently purchased a new system with a Gigabyte Z790 gaming x ax DDR5 board along with 2 x 16 sticks of Corsair vengeance CMK5X16G1B56C36A2 (I think this is an OEM part number but the details in the BIOS say it is CMK32GX5M2B5600C36).
Actually, buying 32GB was a misunderstanding between myself and them. I wanted TWO sticks of 32GB as my work involves creating very large files in Photoshop. I asked them to ship two more sticks of 16, but it was out of stock. Consequently I purchased CMK32GX5M2B5600C36 (should be a perfect match) from Amazon.
I installed the new memory in A1 and B1. Bios recognises it fine and it enters the 'learning phase' which lasts around 30 seconds. After this it tries to boot into Windows, but every time it encounters the BSOD with a sad face showing varying 'handling' errors.
I've tried each stick individually.Blown out the slots with compressed air.Doesn't seem to matter which RAM is in A1 or B1...or whether I use one stick or two.
I've even had replacement RAM and am encountering the same issue.
Is there possibly something going on in the BIOS that I need to change?
