Warning: Terrible experience, beware everyone! I had the same issue when I opened an account 8 months ago. When the first transaction went through them, they held onto the money for 10 days and then sent me the letter below! It's a joke, and I'll never use these guys for payment processing again. ==================== Unfortunately, GoDaddy Payments will not be able to service your account due to certain risk factors. GoDaddy is a scam?
I was once on the phone with godaddy, talking about a domain I was looking at purchasing. It was a couple hundred bucks but it was probably less than what it should've cost given the URL was an English word. Then agent pulls it up, you could hear the surprise in his voice when it was available. Not even 30 seconds later the domain is no longer available and of course the agent claims nothing to do with it, somebody must've bought it. Few days later the same domain was listed for $10k. I don't trust these fucks for a second. More on reddit.com

r/godaddy on Reddit: Well, this is fun: All payment Methods Lost
August 28, 2024 -

I got a couple alarming emails today about looming payment issues on some autorenewals coming up, which I almost ignored because it IS true that my Amex will expire at the end of October -- but the only renewal I have coming up is in September.

Good thing I logged in to check. Turns out: there are now ZERO payment methods stored in my Godaddy account. Zilch. Nada. My last autorenew went through fine on July 2. I never log into the account unless there's a problem.

Obviously I called in, which was a mistake. This is a Weird problem, and call-center people have a 0% chance of resolving Weird problems. The rep couldn't even tell me when the last web login was for my account, which is alarming -- I mean, isn't that kind of audit trail basic due diligence?

It was just such a bizarre conversation. He kept saying they had no record of me calling in since January (when I called for some SSL cert info, unrelated to this), and that the last "change" to my account was on 7/2 when one of my domains renewed, and that there were "no changes" since then.

"But I had a payment method then, right?"

"Yes"

"And I don't have any now, right?"

"No, sir, you do not have this one."

"So there must have been some change."

"There's been no change on your account."

WTF.

Anyone else ever run into this?

About Payment Options (E-Store) – GoDaddy
Offline payment implies that the money is transferred later since the customer is supposed to arrange the transfer offline; for example, going to a nearby bank to transfer the money (that would be bank/wire transfer payment method), giving the customer a call to agree on the payment ("Phone order" payment method), or customer giving the cash to the courier, etc.

I’ve sent 6 emails, initiated a text chat and I’ve been on hold for almost 1 hour 40 minutes. This ahould be illegal. Im a small business.

DO NOT USE GO DADDY FOR PROCESSING PAYMENTS!! My story below Several years ago, I invested in a comprehensive suite of processing products that would enable me to process credit card payments both on-site with clients and online. However, this year, I was only able to process a single transaction. This transaction was conducted online, with the client using their own credit card from their IP address. On the second occasion when the client attempted to pay for services rendered, the payment processor, GoDaddy, retained the funds. The options presented to me were to allow GoDaddy refund the client (while still charging all processing fees), or to permit GoDaddy to retain the entire amount of $3600 for 120 days. My client and I decided to request GoDaddy to process the refund. This situation resulted in GoDaddy retaining processing fees for a transaction they never processed. They merely held the funds without depositing them into my business account. GoDaddy requested several documents, which I promptly supplied. These included proof of my business’s ten-year history, the business contract I had with the client who was using my services, and three months’ worth of bank statements. Despite providing all requested documentation, GoDaddy still attempted to retain the funds for 120 days. This experience has underscored the importance of carefully considering the terms and conditions of payment processors when conducting business transactions. I emailed GoDaddy with the request to refund my client. In response, I received an email from them stating their intention to retain the funds for a period of 120 days. As of today’s date, 5/29/2024, they have indicated that they will not provide any further information or updates on this matter until 9/24/2024. This is the current status of the situation. Let me know if you have had the same experience.
