Can I transfer purchased apps from iPhone to an Android device?

No, you will not be able to transfer purchased apps or subscriptions from an iPhone to an Android phone, or vice versa. If you have a subscription, it’s best to cancel it on the old phone and subscribe to the service again. The only exception is if you paid for the subscription directly, without going through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

r/googleplay on Reddit: How can I fix this issue with Google Play purchases?
September 23, 2024 -

Every time I try to complete a purchase on Google Play, I get this error message: 'Something went wrong. Couldn't complete your purchase. Check that you have the correct country selected in your Play account.' I've tried using several different cards, but none of them work. The odd thing is that these cards worked before, and they still work fine for free trials. Has anyone else faced this issue? What can I do to fix it?

This issue started popping up around late 2023 around November. This tends to happen due to at least two things; The first is you used a VPN to install an app from another country. The second is by using a foreign SIM either by going to another country or using the SIM with international roaming available. i.e. AIS mobile from Thailand or the various eSIM that's been popping up these recent years. Once you do a transaction with either methods it messes with Google's multiple methods of tracking you(IP, GPS location, etc..) and gives this error, what's annoying is that even if you go back to your payment country and try to use the local payment this particular error is now stuck and you can't buy anything from the Play Store anymore. This is due to their new company policy that I they didn't officially announced publicly(I think?), so now it's screwing those who travel or use VPN's. There have been some methods of fixing this but none were found to be consistently effective, some say to use you country's local SIM mobile data once you get back while clearing up the playstore's cache and data but this seems to only work with those who used the VPN method and even then it's still inconsistent, this thread has some other examples in trying to find a fix. The most obnoxious is the aforementioned issue of this error being stuck to your account now even once you return to your payment country. Not even Google's support can help you since they obviously automate their response and they'll just say that you should change your payment country to where you are. I can't even change my country even when the 1 year limit is reset, since the default is my country already YET it keeps giving out this error message. So I gave up and forced a bypass method. The one bypass I found out is to make a Google family group account, you can either make a new google account or get a relative to start a family group and make them the administrator and invite your original account, once you set up the family group payment method by using one of your own local payment(whether that be CC, PayPal or Debit card) and adjust the necessary security settings, you'll now have a new payment method that works and can buy anything from the play store again. There's a caveat though in that you gotta be careful when you're in another country, whether that be by VPN or by traveling since you won't be able to avail the play store again. In general you need to have multiple Google accounts at this point especially if you travel so that this issue doesn't happen again, once you go traveling you should probably make a new Google account in that country to update your apps and never do any transactions when you're outside your home country.

Google play just sucks now. I buy gift cards, load them and can't use them until they verify it. Sucks when you are trying to capitalize on timed special deals.
