The biggest problem for me is that if you find any games through play pass that you'd like to buy for permanent access and to encourage the developer... Well you can't. The purchase button is gone from the play store until your subscription expires. This is particularly amusing when the game is currently on sale. More on reddit.com

August 10, 2023Can't cancel subscription on the Google Play Store because it doesn't show up
Check you don't have multiple accounts under the same email address, I've had the issue with Google play games. The second account was the one we were forced to set up when Google plus was a thing. Should work as one but had has the random glitch which may be your issue. If that fails just remove the payment method on your account around the time of renewal and leave it off for few weeks as they may attempt to take the payment multiple times before they give up.
