Everyone has to start somewhere and somehow. If your ranking on bing drives quality traffic that converts, stays onsite, visits other pages on your site etc…. It can and will improve your ranking on Google as Google sees the right metrics increasing. It won’t drive you to the top but will benefit nonetheless. Bings demographic is gift giving grannies. If they are your demographic, you may have found your captive audience. There are many many site that are killing it in sales that may never see page 1 on google for their strongest phrases. There are many ways to slay this dragon. Plus there are many different search engines and methods. Google reaches 94% of Internet users worldwide minus China. FB reaches 74%. Amazon only reaches 8% of internet users worldwide yet look at the revenue changing hands on the site daily. If I sold gun holsters, do I want to put all of my effort into ranking well on google for phrases that will be very difficult to rank for? Or do I want to compete on Amazon where every view and search for my product phrases appear alongside all of my competitors fight for marketshare and many of them willing to make a penny per sale because they listened to some fake guru who toldd then ranking is success not profit? Or do I want to focus my efforts on sites like gunbroker, a firearms and accessory only website with a fraction of the competition but 12 million fanatics from my target audience on the site looking for one category of products, gun supplies? Google is king but volume can be deceiving depending on quality. Lastly, specific keywords may be impossible for you to conceivably expect to much success anytime soon, but there are vehicles that you might be able to borrow and leverage their authority on google to get listed, called parasite SEO. For example, Quora ranks for 67 million phrases on google with 5.5 million on page one. A quick Google search using site:quora.com “your main keyword phrase” will result in a long list of quora questions currently ranking on Google for your topic. Find the most relevant questions, and go to quora to look at the other answers. Then you need to create a better, higher quality answer. Add a short video to your answer as well and a link pointing back to your site content for more info. If you did a good job and the question has a lot of followers on Quora, they will all be notified of a new answer. The surge in views and potential upvotes can move you into their most useful answer spot for that question which mean your answer now will appear on google in the Quora search result. There are plenty of other sites and methods to further piggyback the great ranking of other sites. Sustainable success means creating multiple solid streams of traffic. When Google sees that, it impacts Google too

July 7, 2025 - Also, since Bing is relatively new, it doesn’t have a great indexing and crawling system compared to Google and Yahoo. As a result it isn’t able to effectively distinguish between authentic links and artificially generated ones.
