My daughter is 2.5 and over 38 inches, so I feel you on the maxing out on height issue! And have also been looking and researching. We have the Magellan but she will have to go forward facing at 40 inches. The car seat lady recommends the Clek Foonf (44 inches RF max) the Clek Fllo (also 44 inches RF max), and the Graco Extend2fit (49 inches RF max). And the Extend2fit also has a 3-in-one option that I believe also goes to 49 inches. I’m going to go with the Graco just to keep her rear facing for as long as I can. Weight limit on all 3 is 50lbs for rear facing. Answer from biscuitsandburritos on reddit.com

r/toddlers on Reddit: Car seat rear facing until four?
February 17, 2022 -

Our pediatrician recently recommended that we need to keep our LO rear facing until 4, but he’s kind of big and we’re wondering what car seats other parents in this situation use?

We’re looking for a 4-in-1 to grow with him, and at his 15 mo appointment he’s 27 lbs (12.2 kg) and 2’9” tall, so we’re wondering what rear facing seats will fit him now and as he gets bigger. We just don’t know where to start.

Currently in a britax b-safe which he is poking out of. Anyone have any advice, recommendations, or previous posts to direct me to? Thanks!

Graco TrioGrow SnugLock 3-in-1 Car Seat Review
October 20, 2023 - It’s just frustrating as a caregiver when a product doesn’t do what it says it’s supposed to do on the box, and so many car seats that I have tried just can’t live up to the measurement maximums they promise. Obviously, kids come in all sizes and there will be some exceptions, but in my experience thus far as a CPST, kids are able to use their Graco seats in rear-facing mode until either the stated height or weight maximum is reached.

r/toddlers on Reddit: Can someone explain this to me?
September 19, 2023 -

This is probably a stupid question but I'm genuinely confused. We have the Graco 4Ever DLX seat for my son. He's 3. He's 36" and 32 pounds (little dude). He rear faces.

The rear facing weight limit is 4-40 pounds. The front facing range is 22-65 pounds. How do I know when to front face him, since the weight ranges overlap? Do I just wait until 40 pounds?

I can't find much information about height limit for this seat, only weight. But he's a little shorty so I'm largely sure he's not at the rear facing limit for that yet.

TIA!
