Harry potter themed guest bedroom help
May I suggest that you not look for Harry Potter themed bedding and window treatments. Successfully decorating rooms with a character theme is a delicate balance. On one side, you have the obvious, the logo merchandise, and the kitschy, which generally makes for a tacky room. That’s the kind of decorating you want to avoid. The successful side of decorating a themed room is all about subtlety. Not sure what movie or area in the Harry Potter world speaks most to you, so I’ll just pick Hogwarts as an example. The materials, textiles, and color palette are what you want to pull from. Think dark woods, four-poster bed (with bed curtains if you have the space), a broody chandelier with lower voltage bulbs, floor to ceiling curtains in a heavy fabric (like a brocade or velvet) that line the wall behind the bed to give the illusion of more windows. Incorporate leather-bound, leather-look, and fabric covered antique/vintage/vintage-look books (doesn’t matter the topic/content so long as the titles sound “witchy”). The bed should be sumptuous. Overstuff a velvet duvet and add lots of dark colored and patterned coordinating pillows. Choose a nice, thicker, aged looking rug in your color palette for under the bed. Then, you add your floating candles and special Harry Potter touches to the room. If this was a room I was doing for a client, I would “mount” some flying keys, like you would mount an insect. You can hit the thrift store and find some smaller, thick/ornate, decorative wood frames. You don’t need glass. Get some batting and dark velvet fabric in a jewel tone from a local craft store. Place some batting, but not too much, on the inside of the back panel of the frames, wrap them in velvet, and glue or staple the edges to the back of the board. Paint the frames in gold, then a layer of black. Finish the top with a crackle varnish that will crack the black paint and let the gold show through. Then, place the backs onto the frames with the padded velvet showing through the front. Secure your winged keys to the velvet with a bit of hot glue, but then use insect mounting pins through the handles of the keys to make them appear mounted like a butterfly. Finally, make little labels underneath each key handwritten in latin. I would use a thicker stock of paper, then stain it a bit with tea. Name each key what you want, but as if your collection is showcasing multiple species. It will make an interesting and one-of-kind artwork. I know that’s a random idea, but that’s the kind of magical subtlety you need to make it a Harry Potter room, without making it look staged and sponsored by a manufacturer. Edit: Another idea would be to check out an architectural salvage store near you. Depending on where you live, you might find some wonderful, unique pieces to add a feeling of authenticity to the room. More on reddit.com
My wife and I are decorating our bedroom in Harry Potter decor but we don't want it to look childish. Where can we find things like duvet covers, curtains, lamp shades, or any other cool decor?

Any recommendations on Harry Potter themed home decor?
No specifics, but my advice is to ask yourself, "Do I want decors that look like what one might find in that world, or do I want blatantly Harry Potter merch?" Personally, for my own home, I avoid the latter because I want it to be a home, not a themed park. For example, instead of having a Slytherin poster, I might feature deep green velvet curtains, moody lighting, maybe a little silver snake doorknob or drawer pull, stuff like that. Basically, a home that looks like it could be something out of HP's world, rather than a teenage fandom bedroom. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that I think it's good to decide which direction you'd like to go towards before deciding how you'd like to decorate. More on reddit.com

Harry Potter Themed Bedroom - The Yellow Rose Farmhouse
March 30, 2022 - The first thing we did to start creating a Harry Potter themed room was paint. We don’t live in a dark stone castle but we can still create the moody vibes of a Hogwarts common room. Since Luke is a Slytherin, painting his room green was an easy choice. Charcoal Smoke is the perfect moody green. Next we added a wood slat accent wall with shelves. We wanted to create a cozy space for him to read and display all of his favorite Harry Potter treasures.

How to decorate your bedroom like a Hogwarts dormitory - Quora
Answer: The Harry Potter books describe the Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw common rooms. However, we only get a look at the Gryffindor dorm room that Harry, Ron, Neville, Dean, and Seamus share. I believe there are bedcurtains around the individual beds and curtains on the window. Dean hung...
