The Hobby Lobby goal is to be the only craft shop in town. They specifically target smaller cities where they can develop brand loyalty. They know that they thrive best without competition. Also it's cheaper to run a store in a smaller town with low rents. In a city like mine they have to pay more to stay open and they have competition (they do have a smallish store here). July 19, 2023What does "good quality" mean for flannel?
I can't necessarily say there is a certain price that will confirm quality. I know from experience that I like Moda flannels, Maywood Studios Woolies, and Robert Kaufman Mammoth flannels, although RK's non-Mammoth flannels are pretty nice, too. They all wash well, and the Mammoth flannels are particularly nice (they are more of a quality flannel shirt flannel - not really fuzzy or super thick)). Depending on where you shop, you can pay $9/yard up to $16/yard. I've seen Moda and Mammoth flannels on clearance at my local craft store for $7/yard, too. I also know that I'm never thrilled with Riley Blake flannels. They seem to pill more than the others I've tried. I think it's simply experience with the product, not the price, that can help guide you. More on reddit.com
