For the past few years I've tried to save money by making gift baskets of homemade food items. It's fun to spend a couple of weeks mass producing different treats, and it feels more meaningful that I've made everything by hand. Here are some of the things I've made in the past: little jars of Dulce de Leche, cherries soaked in maraschino liquor, limoncello, beef jerky, candied pecans, bottles of balsamic reduction, and "Old Fashioned/Manhattan kits" (not homemade, but it fit with the theme).
I'm running a bit low on inspiration for this year. Does anyone have ideas for food that can be made in bulk?
I’m thinking of making edible Christmas gifts because I never have and I’m pooooor. Looking for some ideas which will taste great and also last a couple of weeks unopened. Jams, chutneys etc very welcome but also sweet treats, snacks and less obvious items extra welcome!
