I'm on Linux Mint with Chrome version 117.0.5938.62 and with it I seem to have lost new links opening in a new tabs. All links open in the same tab and I can't find the option to change that back.
It's got to be there somewhere. Any hints appreciated.
Doesn't seem to be anyone out there who can answer this, so I'll post my workaround. Make a home screen shortcut to "about:blank". Using the Nova launcher, you can change the name to "Chrome" and the icon to be identical, and just use that to launch the app.
Unfortunately it still doesn't do anything for new tabs though. I mainly use Adblock Plus browser because Chrome is ridiculously notorious for pushing Google content, and will continue to do so until they add more options for control.
You can use kiwi browser and install Automa extension
Just got my pixel 9 and it always takes me forever to fix this,
How to open links through Chrome Browser, rather than clicking "Open in Chrome Browser"
Previously, when you clicked on a link it would open it within the same tab group (showing along the bottom of the browser) which made it easier to navigate between tabs. Now links open in it's own tab. I've checked the setting and flags seeing if there was a way to revert back.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Looking for a browser for android that opens any link clicked in a new tab automatically
Or if there are settings for popular browsers that can also be adjusted, that'll be also appreciated.. I'm using kiwi browser btw
Thanks in advance
