AirPods can get a surprising amount of charge in just 5 minutes. That's typically enough to give you about an hour of listening or talk time, as long as your battery is in good condition.

The status light should show the current charge level for 8 seconds. If you have AirPods Pro 1, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 3 or AirPods 4 (ANC), you can tap the case when it's on the charging mat to determine whether your AirPods are charging (amber light) or fully charged (green light).

AirPods 2nd Generation 2nd generation AirPods also charge fully from being dead in roughly half an hour. A full charge also provides up to 5 hours of listening time and up to 24 hours with a fully charged case.

So, if the AirPods case is at 100% and both the ear pieces are at 100% and remain unused, the charge of the case should last for 4 to 5 days. Once the case drops to 0%, the ear pieces will start discharging too and that should last...

October 31, 2019 - Yep i had the same with my AirPod Pro's. Sometimes they charge to 99% and only register 100% if I disconnect them from the charger. Interestingly though, if I use a 5W charger or a portable low wattage charger rather than a fast charger, they do charge to 100% ... The difference between 99-100% is minor and quite uninteresting to me. My observations were that a full charge takes much longer.

If you have AirPods Max, charge them for at least 5 minutes using the cable that came with them. If you're not using your AirPods Max, put them in the Smart Case while charging to place them into ultra-low power mode.
